In October 2023, this painting was selected for the 15th Annual Yarmouth Art Festival in Yarmouth, Maine. A unique showcase for Maine artists, 683 artworks were submitted and jurors selected only 165 pieces for the exhibition.

In May 2023 it was exhibited at the River Arts Gallery in Damariscotta, Maine, a non-profit gallery in Mid-Coast Maine. Before that, included in a virtual exhibit, “Wonders of Water,” and part of a traveling banner sponsored by the Green Mountain Conservation Group, gmcg.org. The GMCG is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and conservation of the Ossipee watershed natural resources in Carroll County, New Hampshire.

This is the statement I submitted for that exhibit:

When I think of water I think of sustenance and healing, and then there are themesmerizing reflections - ripples, and surface imagery that morph depending on wind, rain, sun and moonlight, or the swirling of a canoe or kayak paddle.

This painting was inspired while kayaking with my niece and nephew. They raced ahead of me and left behind an animated display of swirling water. The swirls against the stationary mountains created such an appealing scene that I was compelled to photograph, sketch and paint it.
