Beyond the Landscape
To create this piece I used a sewing machine and sewed zigzag and straight stitches onto thick watercolor paper. Then I covered the paper with acrylic paint washes, and embellished it with water soluble colored pencils. For finishing touches, I painted into the colored pencils and added additional watercolor brushstrokes.
This piece was accepted into Maine College of Art & Design's 3rd annual juried Summer Show. Located at 522 Congress Street in Portland, Maine and showcasing community artists, the exhibit is spread throughout the building’s 1st floor and will run from June 10th - August 9th 2024.
This piece was previously accepted into a juried exhibition at the River Arts Gallery, 36 Elm Street Plaza, Damariscotta, Maine. That exhibit "Abstract" ran from September - October 2023.
