To create this piece I used a sewing machine and sewed zigzag and straight stitches onto thick watercolor paper. Then I covered the paper with acrylic paint washes, and embellished it with water soluble colored pencils. For finishing touches, I painted into the colored pencils and added additional watercolor brushstrokes.
This piece was accepted into Maine College of Art & Design's 3rd annual juried Summer Show. Located in Portland, Maine and showcasing community artists, the exhibit ran from June to August 2024.
This piece was previously accepted into a juried exhibition at the River Arts Gallery, 36 Elm Street Plaza, Damariscotta, Maine. That exhibit "Abstract" ran from September - October 2023.
